World Sight Day 2017

KPJ Centre for Sight (KPJ CFS) is giving a new lease of life to 20 people by helping them regain their sight.

Carried out in celebration of World Sight Day, KPJ CFS provided free cataract surgeries for 10 elderly patients and prescriptive spectacles to 10 children for free.

There was also free eye screening for 80 children at Pusat Penjagaan Kanak-Kanak Cacat Taman Megah. Those who were identified with short-sightedness were given prescriptive glasses.

KPJ CFS chairman and KPJ talent management vice-president (II) Datin Sabariah Fauziah Jamaluddin hoped to continue the CSR programme.

“As a healthcare provider in the country, KPJ is aware of the needs of the community and we continue to find ways to serve, from young children to senior citizens, on eye healthcare,” she said.

Also present at the event were KPJ Healthcare executive director Ahmad Nasiruddin Harun and KPJ CFS clinical director Dr Norazlina Bachik.
