
World Sight Day 2012 13th October 2012
On 13th October 2012, KPJ Healthcare Berhad’s eye centre Pusat Pakar Mata Centre for Sight, Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur Bukit Kiara and CIMB Foundation are joining hands once again to help the needy this World Sight Day, by providing free cataract operations for 50 needy elderly patients.
The CSR launch was held at the eye centre, which is
located in SS23, Taman SEA, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, and was attended by some
60 people, including some patients who will be receiving the treatment over the
next one month.
The launch was officiated by Donald Lim Siang Chai, the Deputy Minister of
Finance. Also, presents were the Lions Club President, Lana Low, Medical Director of Pusat Pakar Mata Centre
for Sight, Dr. Choong Yean Yaw, and Executive Director of Pusat Pakar Mata
Centre for Sight, Datin S. Fauziah Jamaluddin.
Dr. Choong Yean Yaw also took the opportunity to announce that Pusat Pakar Mata
Centre for Sight will be opening its another 3rd branch at the site
of the old building of Tawakkal Specialist Hospital, Kuala Lumpur, in next
year.
On the other hand, Pusat Pakar Mata Centre for Sight is pleased to officiate the launch of its new and improved website: www.kpjcfs.com. The site features a new design with a fresh look and is more user friendly.
As part of the launch, these elderly patients – who will be undergoing the
cataract operations in October and November – were also treated to a sumptuous
lunch and given a goodie bag each.
